In short: Fondly collects nothing about you.
Everything you enter stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. We never see, transmit, or sell your data.
What Fondly stores
Fondly lets you keep a private list of the people you want to stay in touch with. The names, relationships, phone numbers, how often you'd like to reach out, last-contact dates, your reminder settings, and your chosen language are saved only in local storage on your own device. This information never leaves your phone.
Choosing a contact
You can add a person by picking them from your phone's contacts. When you tap "Choose from contacts", Fondly asks for the contacts permission so it can read the person you select. Only the one contact you pick is used — Fondly saves just that person's name and number, on your device, and never uploads, shares, or transmits your address book anywhere. If you decline the permission, you can simply type the details instead. Calling, texting, or opening WhatsApp just hands the number to your phone's own apps.
What we collect
Nothing. Fondly has no backend and needs no account. We don't collect your personal data, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or location. Your people, settings, and language never leave your device.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, Fondly asks your device for permission to show you local notifications. They're scheduled and shown entirely on your device — the content (including who you're reminded about) is never sent anywhere.
Platform services we rely on
Like most apps, Fondly runs on top of standard platform services that we don't send your personal data to:
- Notification delivery uses your device's built-in (Google) notification system to show local reminders. No reminder content or contact name is transmitted to us or to Google's servers.
- App updates: the app may check Expo's update service for a new version of the app's code when it starts. This check contains no personal data — only which app version you're running.
Neither service receives the names, relationships, or any information about the people you add.
Third parties
We never sell or share your data, and there is no advertising or tracking in Fondly.
Deleting your data
Because everything is stored locally, uninstalling Fondly permanently removes everything it kept. You can also clear the app's data from your device settings at any time.
Children's privacy
Fondly doesn't collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we'll post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
